And Digitalized Even More

Off her feed, as her mother would say,
she does not sketch, paint
the flora she needs to begin.
She blames her distraction on Mergansers nesting,
ravens that gather to tock in the spruce;
on the morning demands of sweet peas
thriving but unable to grasp
in unseasonable wind --
the same summer wind that toughens skin
offers up reasons for tearfulness --

paint loud flowers
in his new lover’s hair.
