Blue she
cried so hard,
lungs burst,
and tears
fell from the eyes
of her parents

Premature
Hellos
I’m
just old enough to know how
time is fluid,
Lake Michigan in Chicago winds, slapping the coast
like
a wayward daughter,
unrepentant in her defiance,
crests,
jagged like
serrated blades cutting sky
and
I’m just old enough
to know how quickly time flows
so forgive me
if I need to hold you
a bit longer.
Falling Magnets
You
live parachute free, this
skydiving life
and
I’m not sure
if I lust more
for your form
or the way it
plummets,
